Lois MacNaughton, Coach
PULSE Professional

As a coach I see the coaching relationship as one where the coach holds a safe space in which the client can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in an effort to understand how to make their lives more personally satisfying. As they become increasingly confident within that safe space they can begin to step out into the world more authentically. The role of the coach is to hear and see what the client is really thinking, doing and feeling and to reflect that back in a manner that allows the client to see themselves more clearly.

I am a professional life coach and in that role I draw from a number of sources in meeting the needs of my clients. I am a certified Pulse Professional having taken the T3 course in the summer of 2007. I have also completed the Pulse mediation course, which was the original positive experience leading to my interest in going deeper into the Pulse frame, including taking the Pulse Enneagram course. In addition, I am a practicing Emotional Fitness Coach and a certified Emotional Fitness Instructor. Finally, at least in terms of certification, I am a Reiki Master in both Usui and non-traditional methods.

I believe that the synergy between Pulse and my coaching methods has made me a better, more effective coach. I get greater satisfaction from what I am doing and I am making more effective use of each hour I spend with my clients. My clients are seeing deeper results in a much shorter time. All in all a win-win situation for all involved.

The Coach Mediator
Imagine the possibilities.

When relationships suffer, you have the skills to offer clients a comprehensive process of support for 3 to 6 months. Your coaching skills enhance your ability to offer clients a firm grounding for sustainable resolution when relationships are long or emotions are high. One-on-one meetings before and after mediation empower parties to settle their own differences and provide support for the accountability that follows mediation.

Coach Mediators provide the unique opportunity to confront conflict with a blended approach: coaching parties to aid their own understanding and clarification of their situation before and after mediation, and empowering settlement during the actual mediation.

PULSE Coach Training
PULSE now offers a unique opportunity for mediators and coaches alike to enhance their skills. Join us in Canmore August 16-20. Those wishing to develop mediation skills will receive the PULSE Concepts and Mediation Practice, a 40 hour mediation certification program recognized by the Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society. Those wishing to develop coaching skills will receive PULSE Concepts and Coaching Practice eligible for ICF CCE’s for coaching competencies.

The coaching course is being offered in 2 one week sessions with a 3 month interim practice period: PULSE Coaching Rocky Mountain Institute Calgary August 16-20 and November 22-26.
