"It was an incredible week that delivered on my every expectation, specifically: [1] learning how to use PULSE in a variety of situations, but especially in training; and [2] an intense but highly rewarding intellectual exercise that stimulated those rusty old brain synapses and brought a fresh look at the world."

Upon completion of the PULSE Train-the-Trainer, you will be a Certified PULSE Professional. So what is a PULSE Professional you ask? Nancy Love, PhD, program developer and founder of the PULSE Institute, describes it as follows:
|
|
“Being a PULSE Professional means being courageous in the way that you speak and listen to others. It means being curious about the motivation of others, being able to see the world from their perspective and identify their criteria for a better future. The PULSE Frame slows the conversation just by seeking answers to the guiding questions and it can improve the quality of any conversation, in the workplace or the family. We firmly believe this, that if everyone could learn to listen to each other in a curious kind of way and to speak to each other courageously by saying what they need, then we can change the world one conversation at a time.” |

I have written PULSE Conversations for Change for past, present and future PULSE practitioners. If you know about PULSE, this book will deepen your understanding of the frame and its applications. If you are presently learning about PULSE, this book will add to your understanding of the process and its principles. If you are new to PULSE, this book provides the basic understanding that will allow you to practice, to become a PULSE practitioner.
If you are a mediator, facilitator, human resources professional, social worker, teacher, professional or leader of any kind, the PULSE frame will help you in your work. If you are none of those, PULSE will help you speak and listen to others differently so that you will have more satisfying and effective conversations. PULSE works to frame difficult, dangerous, crucial, critical, and everyday conversations. However you use it or wherever you are on your PULSE journey, there is something in this book to take you a little further, to guide you a little closer to the Content, Process and Response that make up the PULSE frame.

As a coach I see the coaching relationship as one where the coach holds a safe space in which the client can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in an effort to understand how to make their lives more personally satisfying. As they become increasingly confident within that safe space they can begin to step out into the world more authentically. The role of the coach is to hear and see what the client is really thinking, doing and feeling and to reflect that back in a manner that allows the client to see themselves more clearly.
I am a professional life coach and in that role I draw from a number of sources in meeting the needs of my clients. I am a certified Pulse Professional having taken the T3 course in the summer of 2007. I have also completed the Pulse mediation course, which was the original positive experience leading to my interest in going deeper into the Pulse frame, including taking the Pulse Enneagram course. In addition, I am a practicing Emotional Fitness Coach and a certified Emotional Fitness Instructor. Finally, at least in terms of certification, I am a Reiki Master in both Usui and non-traditional methods.
I believe that the synergy between Pulse and my coaching methods has made me a better, more effective coach. I get greater satisfaction from what I am doing and I am making more effective use of each hour I spend with my clients. My clients are seeing deeper results in a much shorter time. All in all a win-win situation for all involved.
